ABOUT EGG

My name is EGG, I'm a multidisciplinary artist and designer. I was born in Germany, and studied Design with a minor in Fine Arts at Concordia University in Montreal. I am currently living and creating in the Costa Rican jungle. My dreams are the main source of inspiration for my work. Throughout my life, I've had, and continue to have, recurring and vivid out-of-body experiences from lucid dreaming and sleep paralysis, which I have learned to harness and express through my practice. Paintings are my medium of choice to share the intimate perspectives of my mind – perspectives which reflect how I see the world and the universe. As my dream space and my "reality" have been merging together, the separation becomes less clear, but it becomes more clear that this is all a dream anyway, and absolutely anything is possible. Through my constant drive to push boundaries, and out of the box perspectives, I strive to bring viewers down my rabbit hole and into my, and perhaps their, dream world. My artwork is not about me, I am just the messenger.
